Missing My San Pedro....

Missing all our friends…

Today, I sit looking out at the Belize Barrier reef, watching the waves hit.  I long for the days when I, once again, hear the boats speeding by heading north to Matachica or Portofino.  For now, I only get to hear the waves crashing with their thunder and beauty.  I am not complaining as these moments of calmness feel like the earth has been given a gift.  A gift of peace, and a gift of joy to just be….

I know our happy adventures here in Belize will soon be back.  But for now I ponder, will life be different here in San Pedro? Will the businesses we used to frequent be back?  Will our friends that left to go back to their loved ones come home again to San Pedro? When will that be? So many questions we have, so many unanswered thoughts to process.  But for now, we wait…we wait for the world to get back to some sort of “normalcy”.

Come Back to Belize….

At Belize Happy Adventures, our hope is that we get to host our friends and guests again! We love sharing our beachfront home with our loved ones, old friends, and new friends.  We hope that when people start to come back to this beautiful place, they will take advantage of the amazing adventures the whole country has to offer. Our hope is that when the borders open for people to come to this beautiful country, our friends who we love will still be waiting with open doors!

The Belizean people have so much to share, much of their livelihood is based on the tourist who comes to visit.  This small country has begun to develop because of the many wonders it shares with the people who want find their Belize Happy Adventure.

Local Friendships

We want you to enjoy amazing scuba diving with Rick and all of our friends at Ramon’s.  We miss the smoothies during a great dive interval, or a quick order of fry jacks before we head out on our second dive.

Our friends Jodi and Scott at the Palapa who are always there with a smile on their face, waiting with open arms for you to come and enjoy the one and only Palapa Bar!

Sand Bar, the local hostel, has been working diligently through these hard times, with their nummy delivery. Once a week pizza night has been a favorite.  We are glad they have survived.

As we make our way up Boca Del Rio, we will for sure make a stop at one of our favorites, Sandy Toes, where “Ish” knows your name and Vero will be there with her infectious smile and her brother Manny will make sure my Landshark is nice and cold.

Wayo’s is our favorite dance spot on Wednesday’s so we hope to see them soon to dance up a storm.

I am certain I miss my Thursday night sushi night at Blue Water Grill and have no doubt they will be back taking good care of us!

Sunday’s have not been the same without a visit to Carlos and Ernie’s for their amazing Sunday ribs!  I miss Mark serving me up a cold Landshark.

Oh, how I have missed my favorites, Olive and Luis, our favorite hosts at El Fogon!  I am so longing for a salbute and their delicious traditional mojito!

We also miss the once a week indulgence at our favorite chocolate store, Belizean Chocolate, can’t wait for the chocolate chip cookie and French pressed coffee!

Estel’s breakfast is sure to be open when all of our borders have been cleared.  The best part about Estel’s is the breakfast fry jacks.

I am also looking forward to the Red Ginger for a tasty watermelon martini!

I can’t wait to stroll by GoFish Belize, to wave at Marisela, I look forward to sending her all our friends who want to go fishing with the best guides on the Caye!

We will see you again soon….

As I make my way north, I am hopeful to see Swift and Rhonda at the Dog House and get some of their famous chorizo queso dip.

I must swing by the Dive Bar and the newly opened 303 in hopes to get a cold drink from Raul and, of course, run into the guys at Seastar, Chino, Fito, Big Joe, and the rest of the gang!

I am most certainly looking forward to having a giggle and watching the sunset with Ivan, Diana, Lucy, and everyone at Crocs, I miss all the happy people here!

Saturday Night at Aji

I am sure looking forward to Tim and McKenna at Rum Dog, the delicious Ribs or Lobster Mac and Cheese! In season of course!

The chill of the evening is not complete without the sunsets, wine, bean dip and of course the wonderful hospitality of Keli and Boyd at Stella’s!

And I am so looking forward to “date” night at Aji and good laugh with Mike.  I have not gotten enough of my wine fix while in quarantine, so I long for the ½ price bottle of wine Saturday nights!

And while we are so looking forward to visiting our wonderful restauranteurs, we also can’t wait to see our friends at Tuff -E- Nuff, with Wabble and Billy putting together some great catamaran trips for our guests!

Stay Safe, Stay healthy, Stay happy and we will see you all soon!!
